Merry Christmas to all my readers!  Thank you for your support of The Hill of Beans this past year.

I wish all of you the best as we celebrate the most momentous birth in all history.

For God so loved the world that he gave his One and Only Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

My goal at The Hill of Beans is to discuss that which matters in this crazy world.  Despite all the commercialism that flutters about us this time of year, Christmas is all about what matters the most for each one of us.

Christmas celebrates the ONE relationship that matters most in our lives.  The relationship between Father and child.   As we reflect upon a baby in a manger, shepherds, sheep and angels, also remember why that baby was born.  Jesus was born to live a perfect life, to redeem mankind, and restore our relationship with God.

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!  John 1:29

I hope all of you can take some time over the next few days to reflect on that which is most important in your lives.

Consider some of the questions that matter:

  • Why am I here?
  • How can I contribute to my world?
  • How do I bring value to this situation?
  • How can I bring about more kindness and caring to this situation?
  • What relationships are most important to me and what steps can I take to improve those relationships?

Take time to enjoy and connect over the next few days.  Slow down and enjoy the holiday!  Have fun!  Be present and in the moment.

Merry Christmas and many, many blessings on all of you!

~ John
